Worship happens not just when we “gather” but also when we are “scattered.” In fact, the majority of our worship happens not on Sunday mornings, but the other hours throughout our week. Because of this, we place a strong emphasis on spiritual formation, the personal responsibility of each person to pursue God “with all of their heart, soul, mind, and strength” (Deut. 6:5, Matt. 22:37.)
House church offers the opportunity to pursue Jesus in an authentic and intimate community. In this community we worship God, learn from the Scriptures and the Holy Spirit, ask questions, discover and use our spiritual gifts, and serve one another and the world around us. We believe that having a consistent community for encouragement, discovery, prayer and laughter is an essential aspect of our spiritual journeys. It's no coincidence that the early church met both corporately and house to house (Acts 5:42).
House churches are usually comprised of 10-20 people and meet during the week throughout the city. They're intended to bring people together of diverse backgrounds, varying ages and marital statuses to share life and spur one another on to become formed in the image of Jesus.
